SUMMARY:SARRC Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC) Board wish to invite you to the 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM)\, to be held on the 28th February 2018. \nThe AGM will be held at the SARRC Club Rooms located at the Graduates Oval at Mackinnon Parade North Adelaide. \nThe meeting will commence at 6.15pm. \nAs a light supper will be provided please RSVP 22nd February 2018 (for catering purposes) to office@sarrc.asn.au or on 08 7006 3203. \nWe would greatly value your attendance at the AGM as it is an important event for the Club and members; the full agenda will be provided highlighting information on future priorities and activities of the Club and also the inclusion of two special resolutions:\n(a) to approve the acceptance of the new draft Club Constitution as listed on the SARRC website and\n(b) to approve the 21 Life Memberships conferred in 2012. \nThe Constitution Review Committee formed a voluntary focus group spanning SARRC’s membership base and comprising of Piet Crosby\, Dominic Thewlis\, Brianna Telenko\, Tyler Burrowes\, Luke Davis\, Michael Ward\, Ben Pyman\, Sheena McGill\, Voula Nisyrios\, Veronica Lee and Megan Prideaux \, together with Tim White \, Constitution expert and Community Presenter with the Office of Sports and Recreation. This group has worked hard behind the scenes to bring together a relevant\, ‘member reviewed’ final draft of the updated Club Constitution ready for SARRC member approval at the AGM. \nWe encourage you to review the updated Constitution and clarify any queries you may have and/or provide feedback and comments for consideration by the Constitution Review Committee prior to the AGM so you can vote in an informed way on the day. You can email your feedback to constitution@sarrc.asn.au by 11th February 2018. \nAdditionally\, in light of the 2012 resolution to confer 21 Life Memberships not being undertaken in line with Clause 4c of the Constitution\, being “Life membership may be conferred at any Annual General meeting on a member or members for outstanding service rendered to the Club. Notice of intention to appoint a life member must be included in the notice of meeting given to members. Only the board may nominate a member at an Annual general meeting for Life membership meeting given to members “. \nThe current Board wishes to recognize and confer these 21 life memberships in line with due process and the Club Constitution as well as in a way that is transparent to and supported by the Club’s members. Therefore\, at this upcoming AGM there is a special resolution to approve the life memberships conferred in 2012. \nThe board will also be appointing a life member for outstanding service to the club. \nPlease note: time for questions and to clarify points at the actual AGM will be focused on the President’s\, Treasurer’s and Club reports. \nWe look forward to seeing you on the 28th February. \nYours sincerely \nThe SARRC Board \n
