Clare Valley Half Marathon | 10K | 5K 2018

SARRC’s first half marathon of the year is held in the beautiful Clare Valley and is the first event of our “Triple Crown Series” which includes the Clare Valley, Greenbelt and McLaren Vale events.

The Clare Valley is one of South Australia’s oldest wine regions and it’s world-renowned for producing elegant Rieslings. The Clare Valley Half Marathon follows part of the Riesling Trail.

Getting to the Clare Valley: Driving time from Adelaide to Clare is just over two hours. A coach service also operates between Adelaide, the Clare Valley and other regional localities. Visit YP Coaches for more information.

Getting around the Clare Valley: Car is by far the easiest way to get around the region, however, the region does provide a picture book backdrop for a leisurely bike ride. More information on bike hire here.

Pacers:

Would you like to run the Clare Valley 5K, 10K or Half Marathon for free? Can you maintain a consistent pace for a half marathon? Are you willing to motivate others throughout the run to achieve their running goal?

We are currently seeking interest from members who would like to pace at the Clare Valley event on the 22nd April 2018. Ideally you have some experience as a pacer before, however, as long as you have had experience running the requested distance a number of times in the past we will consider you.

If this describes you & you are interested in being one of the pacers at the Clare Valley Half Marathon, please contact office@sarrc.asn.au expressing which event you would like to be considered for and the time that you can run this event in comfortably (ideally should be at least 10mins slower than the most recent time you ran this distance). If you were not planning on running in Clare, we are also seeking interest for Pacers for our other events throughout the year.

Protect the Region

Users of The Riesling Trail are asked to be considerate of the flora and fauna, other trail users, property and residents. Please take all your rubbish away with you and remember it’s a shared path. Be considerate to other walkers, runners and cyclists who aren’t part of the event.

A percentage of your entry fee is donated to the Riesling Trail Committee.

Phylloxera – South Australia is a declared phylloxera-free state. The phylloxera louse is a significant threat to the health of the valley’s vineyards. Users are asked to observe signage at all times and not enter vineyards without permission.
